by the way, re chinese firewall, did you happen to try iraqwarit awhile ago? the reason i asked, when i was in china in early april i logged on from my hotel in beijing. the next day i couldn't, nor the day after. so curious about their filters, manual or automatic, etc? could be coincidence, of course. and i get hits from china, too. which brings me to their work-around for a restricted site: open a DOS window, "ping" the site, then access via the numeric IP address.

I believe that works only if the IP address you get belongs exclusively to the site you want to see, or has been added as an alias for that site. If the site is hosted along with a lot of other sites, you'll need to use the domain name so that the host knows which site, among several sharing an IP, is the one to serve. I just tried this on my own site, and it doesn't work. Maybe I'm missing something here...
steve, i'm not sure, just that our guide guy told us that he could pretty well get to anything he wanted even if it was restricted, and something to do with what i said above. maybe i missed a step, though, more interested in the what than the how.
and yes, hipparchia, i did mean the great firewall (1, how could i miss that? 2, i'll post a pic tonight of my head sticking out of the wall).
Rated R for some shits and hells (and one gun). Evidently no abortions, but then it would take a more sophistimicated program than that to count the metaphorical ones.
I'm pretty sure I say "fuck" a lot too. Maybe that's what you get when you use PG rating software.
well, fuck, keifers... i mention abortion more often than you do, but i'd have bet the f-bomb shows up on your site more often than it does on mine [not very often on either of them].
blog-ratings? we don't need no steenkin blog-ratings!
actually, it'd be pretty cool if the kids of the right-wing fundies do happen on a lot of these nc-17 blogs [or even go looking for them]. they need to be exposed to some of these issues. a lot of the nc-17 blogs i've seen so far discuss important stuff like reproductive rights, war, torture.
not to mention, a few of these blogs are providing accurate information on sex, birth control, and std's that teens might not get elsewhere.

I am envious. I got "PG" until I deliberately added a post that bumped it up to "PG-13" ... it's just not fair.
[krnksv - kranky server?]
Actually, almost all of the words came from politicians, not you, so politicians are NC-17. You might eke out a PG-13.
PG baby .. kill (3x) suicide (2x) gun (1x) .. that's it.

nope. i tried just mine and ioz and sex in the public square. we all 3 got nc-17. runnin with the big dogs, babe.
or did you mean the great firewall? i tried several blogs some time ago, so i'm wondering of it was a generic blogger thing.
i adore threadjacks, but i live for workarounds.

The fuck I did!
(the x worked, but I was having a fuck of a time with the double qs. I almost aborted the whole thing.)

Umm, I sure hope they were guests.

i'll never tell.
PG-13? Maybe I should just quit.
hey there, trans-fossil! become a feminist. we're dangerous.
i've been comparing mine to other blogs. "abortion" seems to be what put me over the top. "death" and "torture" by themselves won't get you there.
Huh. I guess righties are behind the rating system. Figures, doesn't it?

update
still nc-17, for the following:
abortion (7x)
death (4x)
kill (3x)
drugs (2x)
gun (1x)
