Caging your own voters is just so....

And the elderly father was a lifelong Democrat. Yeah, I'd say that constituted an "irregularity" in his hypothetical GOP membership! (Pardon me while I LMFAO.)

Were you in a properly fenced free speech zone when you wrote that? (Damned uppity voters.)

damn, i'm back to being a boy again.

properly fenced free speech zones is about what it's coming down to these days. i revisited [at slate? don't remember] an article comparing the bong hits 4 jesus and the [what was it? campaign ads?] paid speech is free speech supreme court decisions last night. ugh.

Haven't read the new opinions yet, but it seems consistent with what the court has said for the past thrity-odd years. (At least so far as what I've read, and as affirmed when I asked someone, possibly you.) What a country!

qweschun: do you... ?

30 years? i never paid a lick of attention to the supreme court until the harriet miers flap, so it must have been somebody else you were talking to.

Last year, I had a fun idea for a project. I'd go through Wikipedia's notable supreme court cases, and skim the opinions for "partisanship" (left or right) and "audacity" (5/4 decisions would be audacious, 9/0 would not be.) Was going to plot these on a chart (thinking it would reveal a correlation with crazy and right). Problem was that it was much too subjective (shoulda been obvious going in), and way, way too boring. Read a handful of older opinions though.

I feel bad that I never comment about your kittens. They're very cute. We got one a month or two ago, and I've intended to blog about that when in the right mood. I think it's my online imperative.

jaded grizzled Xers

or... great minds and all that jazz, which might be more appropriate here. the project i've been kicking around is following how often and on what cases the 5 catholics end up on one side and the 4 non-catholics end up on the other.
