When voting is outlawed, only outlaws will vote!

My primary vote isn't going to count for anything, so I was planning to spend it on Kucinich, because he's the only candidate who is truly proposing single-payer not-for-profit health insurance for everyone, but instead, I may have to cast it for Senator Dodd, one of the few Democrats who appears to have a spine at the moment.

Dodd has been very impressive in the past 24 hours. Imagine: a senator confronting a problem head-on, immediately, and risking his political standing in the process! I'm seriously considering voting for him in the primary, though I need to examine his position on a variety of issues first. Still, from a standpoint of defense of the Constitution, he's going to be difficult to top.

dodd, briefly, on some issues:

strengthen medicare and social security, not by privatizing, but by getting fiscal house in order.

some other good stuff for seniors.

iraq. tie funding to firm deadline, complete redeployment by 4-30-08; good, but i'm not sure i like the "redeployment" though this may be the best we can get

roughly the same healthcare plan as everybody else, so basically giving tax dollars to for-profit insurance corps. meh.

farm policy looks decent at first glance, but i haven't studied it.

dodd, on the issues

not a lot of details on any of the issues, but all his positions look reasonbly progressive to me. from what i've skimmed thorugh so far, if he won the democratic nomination, i'd vote for him for president.

ps. if you do further resaerch, and if you find that he holds any particularly egregious positions, let me know. i'll do the same.

Interesting idea, but keep in mind that the DNC has no actual power to refuse delegates at the convention, that power rests with the nominee. Your vote will count, no matter who you choose to vote for.

I, for one, can't disapprove.
