Waging Preemptive Peace

Al Gore and the IPCC share the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. WTF? A lot of folks are going to be scratching their heads, wondering how on Earth the melting of a couple of giant ice cubes at the top and bottom of the planet has got anything to do with Peace, so here ya go: a couple of doom and gloom reports, along with a bit of possibly inappropriate background music.

Really? At this point, I question the intelligence (something I rarely do) of anyone who fails to see the connection between catastrophic climate change and international stability. How many people do we really still have to convince that Gore deserved this particular prize, not just any "good person" prize?

(Aside regarding the comment key... an angry former tenant once left me a bottle of Qwell in the bathroom mirror cabinet of a rent house I was moving into. I've never scrubbed a toilet so thoroughly in my life!)

i am constantly amazed when people don't seem to make such obvious connections, but apparently they're incapable of it.
